"Isn't yoga about religion?"

Yoga first appeared over 5000 years ago which pre-dates all modern forms of religion. It's important to remember there is a distinction between respecting and awareness of other cultures and teaching a religion. Yoga is not about religion, it's about realising the unique and best characteristics within each of us and in total respect to whatever beliefs each child may have.

"What should the children wear to class?"

Comfortable sports clothing/p.e kits will be just fine (i.e. shorts, jogging bottoms or leggings and a t-shirt). Yoga is practised barefoot on a non-slip exercise mat.
