Hi and welcome to the School of Chill. My name is Stacey and I run the children's yoga classes here. I am based in Hedge End, on the South Coast of Hampshire.

I am trained to teach yoga for children and adults and love sharing the practice with anyone aged 2+. I run classes for schools and preschools, as well as classes in the local community. I also love to do a little yoga at home with my two children, my husband and our pet cat too (the dog is not so keen - yet)!

Yoga is at the heart of our family. Our children, like many families, fill every space in our lives (and our house), so we want them to have the best start in life. Yoga teaches children many important techniques which can stand them in good stead for whatever life throws at them. While we can't protect them from everything that comes their way, we can give them the tools to help them look after themselves and respect others around them.

Stacey did her first qualification in Children's Yoga with Yogabeez in 2017. Her aim is to present yoga in a fun and practical way; a toolkit for the modern family.

Chill-Out Archive

We've put together some chill-outs for you to try at home with your children. We want to give children skills that they can use throughout their lives, whether it's help with getting to sleep, coping with anxiety, improving concentration or the physical benefits of balance & mobility to go alongside other sporting interests, we illustrate smaller exercises that you can download for your children to practice at home. These are then shared in a free newsletter to parents whose children attend classes. An example is available to download below.

Calm and Focus

"Candle Gazing"

This calming exercise is suitable for children aged 6yrs and up (under supervision). It's a meditation technique designed to calm the mind and bring focus.DOWNLOAD

We had a number of requests to make a video for children to try this again outside class, so here it is. This is an amazingly simple but effective chill-out that can be used to calm and energetic mind and body. As with our other exercises, effectiveness increases with practice.
